Chasing Pirates

And, I don't know how to slow it down....

My minds racing from chasing pirates

Beach bum....Seaside, Florida- (heres a glance at my beach getaway)

Norah Jones song Chasing Pirates is a slow song that I listened to while walking up and down the beach.Its a slower beat but soothing like most of Norah Jones songs. I am so very excited for her to come to Austin City Limits this year. Her latest album is more indy to me than any of her other cds. Go check it out.

A long dress is a necessity for summer and especially for the beach. This T-bags halter is a go to when wanting to feel cool and festive for the beach. Most long dresses are filled with print so theres no need for a bunch of accessories or bold shoes. A plain sandal or flip-flop goes perfect with the look and allows the dress to speak for itself.

I like to always have some flare so I added a large brown stone ring. A big and "loud" ring can do a lot for an outfit and simply be the only piece of jewelry one wears. You don't want the ring to take away from the ensemble but rather pull the look together with a unique touch.

Hannah

Hannah takes the stairs cuz she can't tell that it's a winding spiral case,

Is she right side up, or upside down?

Freelance Whales. Unique. Upbeat. Catchy. Although it's a little more 'poppy' than my usual taste, I can't help but sing along to the jolly lyrics.

I know what you're thinking, and yes, the yellow boots are back. They are such a great final touch that I can't help but pair them with this dress. I feel that the boots down play the 'cha cha' factor of this dress and make it a little more modern.

I am a loud human and love loud colors. The brighter, the better-especially for summer. Don't shy away from colors that make you stand out!

The Kill

He feels the kill..

I think its funny how some things change... theres got to be more to life

Ben Rector is an incredible musician. If you haven't heard any of his music go buy it now! The kill is not from his most recent album (which is also incredible by the way)...but its a song that I keep going back to. He has the most unique voice and sound. Go listen to it, you won't regret it.

Sidenote these picture are from Seaside. The most adorable town I have ever visited. Everyone bikes everywhere and the houses are yellow, blue and even purple! The Truman Show was filmed here if you have ever seen that movie. More pictures to come from Seaside..

I try to pair sweet feminine accessories with funky and bold clothing. A pink flower bow and lace bandeau does wonders with a bold silver cuff and cut off shorts. Try mixing and matching different looks although it seems strange--to me and brings a creative and different look. Ever heard the saying opposites attract?

Of course I had to pull in a gladiator sandal, Leslie and I are obsessed. Sorry I'm not sorry, buy some and you will understand. They seem to go with anything and everything!

Cubism Dream

She flew across the sea, we talked on a small screen

Oh what a fool I was to think, that I could get by on a smile and a wink

'Cubism Dream' by Local Natives seemed to be an appropriate song choice for this post. Not only because I semi look like an indian in this outfit, but also because they are the greatest band I've listened to in a long time. All of their songs are perfect for rolling your windows down and singing at the top of your lungs-maybe thats just me-but give them a whirl and I promise you won't be disappointed.

This happens to be one of the outfits I recently wore to 'Coachella' and is quite a comfy staple. The dress I purchased a few years back at a vintage store in LA. My Sam Edelman gladiators have been a frequent with most all of my summer outfits, adorned with my retro throw back sunglasses-that you learn to love.

Bangles, bracelets and cuffs can be worn in any combo and with any outfit. I am also a closet hippie so take my advice with a grain of salt.

Summer will soon reveal all of my sundresses that have been stowed away for the winter. Coming soon my friends...-L

Sideways Walking

Wedge Obsessed

I don't see advantage of letting go of something

{DVF Wedge}

{My latests two purchases Michael Kors & Jeffrey Campbell}

Sideways Walking By Eastern Conference Champions is a great slow rock song that I have been jamming to lately. ECC has some great songs of all types. Sideways walking, stumbling or falling is also what my clumsy self has done in my wedges and heels many of times.
{Green Pasture Wedges from Anthropologie}

I have become obsessed with wedges this summer season. They are fun funky and give me height and power! Wedges are fun thing to hunt for. These are my favorite finds and am starting to purchase them all slowly. I have 2 out of the 5 so its a start. I can't wait to put a fabulous look with them. I recommend wearing wedges with a tight skinny jean or a high waisted flared jean with a tucked in blouse. Good luck on your wedge search! Be on the look Leslie's next post. ~H

Cousins

If an interest in culture, you should be lining the walls

I thought the song Cousins by Vampire Weekend would be appro-
priate for todays post. First and foremost its a great summer song to drive, swim and hang out to. Secondly, my cousins joined me in my adventure to go to my favorite sweet spot in Austin....Snobeach! They have a million flavors. I prefer blue Hawaiian, coconut, and carmel.

Summer is the start of great dresses, beach wear, accessories and my favorite... colors! Spicing up ones wardrobes with bright fun colors speaks nothing but summer to all kinds. A bright colored clutch or purse helps bring an outfit together and give a funky flirty flare. Hobo has quite a few of options in every color. Check it out-
